Amazon’s AI engine enables users to personalise a product picture’s background – AmazonAmazon’s AI tool is designed to generate appealing advertising artwork starting from product pictures on a neutral background, for example a well-stocked clothes rack for a fashion vendor, or a nicely furnished kitchen to promote household appliances.
“Providing tools to make image-generation simple and easy is another way for us to support advertisers while also making the ads our customers see more engaging and visually rich,” said Colleen Aubrey, senior vice-president of Amazon Ads Products and Technology.The solution is freely available on Amazon Ads, the platform that enables Amazon vendors to generate advertising campaigns that will be promoted to their target customers also via third party sites. Amazon has emphasised that using its AI-driven image generator comes at no extra cost.
This is not the first time that Amazon has deployed AI tools. Earlier in 2023, the US group introduced a solution enabling customers to easily generate product reviews. Users simply need to tick a few boxes on the product’s order feed-back form, and AI will generate a suitable text.More recently, Amazon introduced another tool that allows vendors to automatically generate product description texts.In March, Amazon announced it was cutting 9,000 jobs, after a first wave of 18,000 job cuts had been announced two months earlier. A decision taken owing to “business uncertainty and lack of clarity about the near future,” according to the group owned by Jeff Bezos. In 2022, Amazon’s revenue grew by 9%, to €474 billion, while its annual operating income increased from €12.2 billion to €24.9 billion.
