Net-A-Porter, Mr Porter, Yoox and The Outnet go fur free

Luxury and discount sites Net-A-Porter, Mr Porter, Yoox and The Outnet already sell products from animal-friendly brands such as Stella McCartney and Armani, but the new fur-free policy will extend the approach across all products and labels. The new fur-free policy highlights the group’s commitment to managing environmental impact responsibly as stated in its sustainability report 2016, and ensures the online stores promote commercial policies in line with animal rights.

“The Group started its journey towards creating a sustainable future back in 2009 with the launch of Yooxygen, the pioneering Yoox’s destination for social and environmental responsible brands. Since then we have made great steps. Yet there is still much more to do and we remain more focused than ever on our commitment to create a sustainable future. We have a strong sense of responsibility and recognise the importance of making a positive contribution to society. With a range of initiatives, partnerships and innovations, our goal is to act as an industry-wide catalyst for change,” daid YNAP head of sustainability Matteo James Moroni. The group said it will continue to work closely with HSUS, HSI, LAV, and other leading animal and environmental protection organizations to keep the business continually updated about fur and ethical sourcing.
